Omegle Forced Shut Down by a Lawsuit From a Sexual Abuse Survivor

What you need to know about the app and shutdown Omegle, the video and text chat site that paired strangers together to talk, ultimately shut down as part of a legal mediation with a female user who sued the company, claiming its defective and negligent design enabled her to be sexually abused through the site. Omegle’s chatting service was shut down Wednesday, just a week after it settled a court case with a plaintiff identified as A.M. Her lawsuit, filed in 2021, alleged that she met a man in his thirties on Omegle who forced her to take naked photos and videos over a three-year period. She was just 11 when it began in 2014. “The permanent shutdown of Omegle was a term negotiated between Omegle and our client in exchange for Omegle getting to avoid the impending jury trial verdict,” Carrie Goldberg, an attorney who represented A.M., tells WIRED. Attorneys for Omegle did not respond to a request for comment on the settlement. Emails to Omegle were not returned. Omegle, founded in...

Iphone Hack

Chinese hackers break into iPhone 13 Pro in 15 seconds Some of the best hackers in China get a chance to show off their skills at the Tianfu Cup organised in Chengdu, China, every year. This year too, the competition saw some crazy hacking skills that surprised many technology firms such as Apple. For instance, hackers were able to hack the newly launched iPhone 13 Pro running on iOS 15.0.2 in record time. Not once, but twice.  One of the teams was Kunlun Lab which was successful in breaking into the iPhone 13 Pro in under 15 seconds. Kunlun Lab’s CEO is the former CTO of Qihoo 360. The team exploited a vulnerability in the Safari browser to hack the smartphone.   The CEO hacked the smartphone live in front of everyone in a mere 15 seconds. He, however, undertook weeks of preparation before attempting the hack. As of now, the hacking group didn’t reveal how it was able to hack the smartphone.  Kunlun Lab was not the only team to hack the iPhone 13 Pro, with th...

PIxel 8 & 8 Pro

The new Pixel 8 series release with 7 years of software support seems like the best. The Pixel devices are known for their Simple Software, which sets them apart in the Android/smartphone market. They are considered smart devices because of their impressive features, such as photo editing, Audio Magic Eraser, and Google Assistant. The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are better than their predecessors in several ways, making them more compelling. However, Google is asking for a lot of trust from its users to get there. The new phones are more expensive, with a $100 price hike for each model. This puts the Pixel 8 at $699 and the Pixel 8 Pro at $999. The days of the standard Pixel being an upper-tier midrange phone are gone, as they are now both flagship devices. The new Pixel 8 and 8 Pro come with the 4nm processor Tensor G3, which boosts performance and AI capabilities compared to the old Tensor G2. While the new Tensor still lacks the raw performance benchmarks of other devices like Samsung an...

iphone 15 pro & max Review

The Apple Iphone 15 Pro and Pro Max Review  The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are defined by their refinements. This pair of phones is one of the most compelling releases from Apple in years Tested the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max for five days, but it wasn't until I was photographing a bodega cat named Kit Kat that I realized just how many improvements these phones have. They are brimming. After I took Kit Kat's picture, I saw the option to turn his image into a portrait mode photo. It's a minor detail but one with a significance: Nearly any photo can now be a portrait photo. And this isn't even the biggest addition. Apple gave its Pro models a glow-up with a refreshed lighter build, a new shortcut button and the world's smallest processor 3nm named Apple A17 Pro . And it did all this while managing to keep that tried-and-true iPhone aesthetic front and center. In my time reviewing both phones, I recorded videos of penguins swimming, played the console game Resident...

The Glyph Phone

Let's talk  the Nothing phone 2  The LED brand......... Some wants a cheap phone but won't accept the compromises it comes with, Last phone 1 was in my opinion good for the price to performance ratio.  The internet wanted latest available chip for cheap, better hug the Pixel A series. Here in the fancy boi we see a price increase for a last year chip Snapdragon 8 gen 1, now here goes the price complain, though I saw some twitter complaint for the used midrange chip in the Phone 1. Though the price hike for their 2nd phone is sure a shocker as it's not a subtle change so is the hardware if considered.
