Wiko receives recognition award from Google

Can you hear it? The 500 Wiko Girls and Boys around the world that are cheering away… Join in! For the first time, Google promoted its local partners and has just awarded Wiko with an award of recognition. Wiko is among the 9 companies to receive the Google Android Award during the MWC 2017. With similar missions and core values, both companies place the consumer at the heart of their business strategies and work together to democratise technology, making it accessible to the masses. Looking back at 2007, when Android was launched, a free and open-source operating system, it is clear that it changed the game in the mobile market. Android provided the solution to manufacturers, as they no longer had to buy or build expensive mobile operating systems. Today, more than 24,000 devices from over 1,300 brands run on Android 1 , including in Europe! It is through Android and a fruitful collaboration with Google, that Wiko has been enabled t

All Controller controls all your consoles

Am here to introduce to you the All controller for all standard game consoles... Remember the third party controller your sibling/cousin/friend made you use when you visited his or her house in the NES days? Remember the pain you felt when the joystick wasn’t quite right and they were hosing you on Mortal Kombat while you were busy trying to figure out why your character kept kicking? Well the  All Controller isn’t like that at all. The All Controller is a third party project that, in theory, can be used on any console. You can set up macros and speed buttons and connect to the Xbox, the PS4, or the Switch. It also has a 40 hour battery and can connect to PCs. “Connecting to consoles will be as easy as plugging in the custom USB adapter,” write the creators. “This device will allow the ALL Controller to connect to the XBox 360, XBox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Added support for Nintendo Wii, WiiU and Switch will be added as well. On top of that, the USB adapter will h

New Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 is actually reasonably sized

Microsoft has  redesigned the USB dongle   used to connect your Xbox One controller to your Windows 10 laptop, and thank goodness for that. The formerly hulking black slab is now a much more modestly sized black slab, which is roughly the size of most flash drives, and won’t stick out like a sore, incredibly huge thumb on your notebook or PC. The new adapter is $24.99 and ships starting on August 8 in the U.S., and is a full 66 percent smaller than the original, which I’m staring at right now in my office with a mixture of disgust and disdain. It also can connect to up to eight controllers at once, in case you’re a PC gamer with a deep love of local multiplayer. There’s a little cap, too, and an indicator light to let you know when you’re in pairing mode and when you’re connected. It can also beam wireless stereo sound to your controller if you’re using a plugged in headset. Sony released its own PC wireless adapter for its PS4 DualShock controllers not too long ago, and t

Facebook is to be working on dedicated video chat device

Facebook is reportedly working on dedicated video chat hardware, per a new report by Bloomberg. The device is said to be the inaugural major product from Facebook’s hardware-focused Building 8 product development lab, and will include a notebook-sized display. It’s intended to make video chat participants separated geographically feel like they’re together in the same space, the report claims. Bloomberg’s report also claims Building 8 is developing a separate smart speaker product, similar to Amazon’s Echo and Google Home, which would use a voice assistant developed by the social network provider. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg developed his own home voice assistant as part of a project resulting from his annual resolutions, which in 2016 focused on building a smart home companion similar to Jarvis from Iron Man. This isn’t the first we’ve heard of a smart speaker in development at Facebook – a report last week sourced from DigiTimes suggested that the company’s supply chain source

Nintendo says SNES Classic preorders coming in late August

After Walmart’s embarrassing error and  resulting cancellations , Nintendo has put an official timeframe on when consumers can expect to preorder the SNES Classic: it’s happening later this month. “We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for pre-order by various retailers late this month,” the company  posted on Facebook today .  The console goes on sale September 29th. Preorders have  already opened up  (and sold out) internationally Nintendo is also pledging that “a significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day, and throughout the balance of the calendar year.” How many does “significant” actually mean? Who knows. Nintendo has suggested that the nostalgic mini-console will be easier to purchase than the NES Classic, but there are really no guarantees.
