Android Takes Aim at AirDrop: Quick Share Gets a Makeover and Eyes Windows Integration

Android users, rejoice! The days of file transfer envy towards Apple's AirDrop might be numbered. Google and Samsung are joining forces to level the playing field with a revamped Quick Share system, and it's bringing some exciting new features to the table.

Sharing is Caring, and Android Just Made it Easier: The revamped Quick Share system represents a major leap forward for Android file sharing. With its unified experience, intuitive interface, and upcoming Windows integration, it's poised to seriously challenge AirDrop's dominance. So, Android users, get ready to share files with more ease and efficiency than ever before!

One Share to Rule Them All:

Gone are the days of confusion between Nearby Share and Quick Share. These two previously separate systems are merging into a single, unified Quick Share experience. This means a smoother, more intuitive way to share files between Pixel, Galaxy, and most other Android devices, regardless of which sharing system they originally used.

Crossing the Platform Divide:

But wait, there's more! The ambition doesn't stop at Android dominance. Quick Share is set to expand to Windows machines in Q3 2024, opening up seamless file transfer between your Android phone and your Windows laptop or PC. This marks a significant step towards true cross-platform file sharing convenience.

What's in the Box?

Direct & Fast: Just like AirDrop, Quick Share uses Bluetooth for quick device discovery and then switches to Wi-Fi Direct for speedy file transfers. No more waiting around for files to crawl through.

User-Friendly Interface: Sharing files is as simple as tapping on recipient devices and hitting send. The interface is intuitive and easy to navigate.

Security First: Your data stays safe with encrypted file transfers, ensuring privacy and peace of mind.

Offline Sharing (when needed):In a pinch, Quick Share can even share files offline using Bluetooth, although expect slower speeds and limited range.

The Stage is Set, But the Curtain is Rising

The unified Quick Share system is currently making its debut on Pixel devices through a staged rollout. Other Android phone makers are expected to follow suit soon. As for Windows compatibility, we'll have to wait until Q3 2024 to experience the magic.

Stay tuned for further updates as Quick Share continues to roll out and expand its capabilities. And remember, sharing is caring, so start sharing.

Am here to introduce to you the All controller for all standard game consoles... Remember the third party controller your sibling/cousin/friend made you use when you visited his or her house in the NES days? Remember the pain you felt when the joystick wasn’t quite right and they were hosing you on Mortal Kombat while you were busy trying to figure out why your character kept kicking? Well the  All Controller isn’t like that at all. The All Controller is a third party project that, in theory, can be used on any console. You can set up macros and speed buttons and connect to the Xbox, the PS4, or the Switch. It also has a 40 hour battery and can connect to PCs. “Connecting to consoles will be as easy as plugging in the custom USB adapter,” write the creators. “This device will allow the ALL Controller to connect to the XBox 360, XBox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Added support for Nintendo Wii, WiiU and Switch will be added as well. On top of that, the USB adapter will h

Supercomputer Can Calculate in 1 Second What Would Take You 6 Billion Years

It's shiny, fast and ultrapowerful. But it's not the latest Alpha Romeo. A physics laboratory in Tennessee just unveiled Summit, likely to be named the world's speediest and smartest supercomputer. Perhaps most exciting for the U.S.? It's faster than China's. Hot 100 smartphones The supercomputer — which fills a server room the size of two tennis courts — can spit out answers to 200 quadrillion (or 200 with 15 zeros) calculations per second, or 200 petaflops, according to Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where the supercomputer resides. "If every person on Earth completed one calculation per second, it would take the world population 305 days to do what Summit can do in 1 second," according to an ORNL statement. Put another way, if one person were to run the calculations, hypothetically, it would take 2.3 trillion days, or 6.35 billion years.
